MEDCo at 16
Pursuing peace and development agenda in Mindanao
On the occasion of its 16th year as Mindanao’s development integrator and 14th year
as the Philippine Coordinating Office for the Brunei Darussalam-Indonesia-Malaysia-the
Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA), MEDCo, together with its partners,
honors the pioneering efforts and milestones achieved so far for Mindanao and Palawan
through a two-page anniversary supplement that appeared in Manila Bulletin on 26 March 2008.
This MEDCo-EAGA anniversary supplement highlights MEDCo’s successes over the past 16 years
of pursuing Mindanao’s peace and socio-economic development, including its pivotal role in
sustaining the gains of BIMP-EAGA. Amid opportunities and challenges in Mindanao, MEDCo shall
continue rallying behind a common objective of promoting Mindanao’s socio-economic growth,
a feat that will mark another set of milestones in the history of the council.
