Areas of Cooperation

The Inaugural BIMP-EAGA Senor Officials Meeting and Minister's Meeting (SOMM) held last March 24, 1994 in Davao City, Mindanao, Philippines identified thirteen (13) Areas of Cooperation among the BIMP-EAGA member countries.

Five (5) of these were considered for immediate implementation, i.e. air linkages, sea linkages, joint tourism development, construction & construction materials and fisheries cooperation. The other sectors are environmental protection and management, telecommunications, people mobility, human resource development, forestry, agro-industry, energy, capital formation and financial services
