MINDANAO UPDATES. President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo (right) confers with Sec. Jesus Dureza, presidential adviser on the peace process, recent data citing significant headways in Mindanao's socio-economic performance last year during a recent roundtable discussion in Malacanang. The President, who was presented with reports consolidated by the Mindanao Economic Development Council (MEDCo), noted the remarkable growth in exports, tourism, and investments that contributed to Mindanao's better-than-national growth rate in 2005.
